What To Do In an Emergency
Call our office immediately if an emergency occurs! We will see you as soon as possible to provide the care you need. In the meantime, there are a few things you can do to care for your tooth and mouth to ease pain and swelling and to protect your tooth:
For a severe toothache or object stuck between teeth | Rinse your mouth with warm water and use floss to attempt to remove any food or debris that may be stuck between your teeth. If swelling occurs, place a cold compress outside of the source of pain.
For a cracked or broken tooth | Rinse your mouth with warm water. If you are bleeding, place gauze on the injury until bleeding stops or you are able to receive care from our team. A cold compress outside of the injury can help ease any swelling and pain that may occur.
For a tongue, lip, or cheek bite | Use a cloth to gently clean the bitten area. Rinse your mouth with either a mild salt-water mixture or just warm water, then place a moist piece of gauze on the injury until the bleeding stops or you are treated. Use a cold compress to help ease swelling and pain.
